De afgelopen week was Herman Brood weer volop op tv; het is alweer 10 jaar geleden. Er zijn veel prachtige beelden en wat mij van deze week is bijgebleven is zijn versie, op AT5, van Iggy Pop's Home.

Ik kende dat nummer helemaal niet maar draai het al de hele avond. Pure rock 'n roll! Het is het openingsnummer van Brick By Brick uit 1990 waarop ook de bona fide hits Candy en Living On The Edge of the Night staan. Ik moet die cd toch eens op de kop tikken.



Het clipje op AT5 staat hier. Home zit ongeveer halverwege en het eindigt met een wielerwedstrijd waarbij waarschijnlijk niet op doping werd gecontroleerd.

Na een huiselijke discussie en een zoektocht op internet is het mysterie nu opgelost.

Eindelijk weten we wat er wordt gezongen in The Nightcrawlers' Push The Feeling On!.

An unusual characteristic of many Nightcrawlers songs is that the choruses were not separately written and recorded but instead consisted of rearranged snippets of the verses, giving them an uncertain or unclear meaning.

Original Lyrics:

Re-sampled Lyrics:

"Their Lives again / Their Li / to pull us through" (Main Loop Throughout Song)

Wie herinnert zich de commercial Gedduppaaaah... nog? James Brown rules! En zo vond ik vanochtend het volgende in mijn mailbox. Ik citeer:

It's almost too good to be real. These two Nissin Cup Noodle commercials from 1992 show James Brown adapting his classic "Sex Machine" to sell miso soup. But you already knew that. Because you've already watched this video over and over. Because it's the greatest thing ever.
